Voice recorded with camera's audio, guitar recorded direct-in with a Presonus Firebox + several plug-ins. The actual song is playing in the background at a low level. Song -- Nevermore, "The Final Product". I didn't look up any official tablature for this, so don't get all upset if I'm not 100% right how Loomis plays it.

  • Very nice!!!

  • Thank you

  • Hey man, I almost got the tapping down,

but I'm not sure of which notes play going back down the neck... is it the same as the beginning just over and over again?

Could you post tabs? Cuz the ones I found were crap. And i can't find a tutorial

  • Truth be told, I'm too lazy to tab out anything. Tabbing is tedious. I can tell you this, though, when going down, it's almost the same notes, but the last series (on the 3rd string) is new.

  • Hi..

Where do u get the guitar-tone, pluging the guitar straight through the firebox?.

would it be better to use a regular amp and record via a microphone? to get the sound i want, from my 6505.. the 6505 goes through an engl standard 412 cab

  • It's always better to use a regular amp and record with a microphone.

I was only going direct in the Firebox and using a GTR amp & stomp pedal modeling plug-in because my housemate was sleeping in the room next to me. I played the tapping part to a click at the same tempo that Nevermore played it at. I then used Sony Vegas to line up the video, recorded guitar part, camera's sound, and the edited original Nevermore part.

It's a nice quiet alternative to recording with a mic, but not as easy.
