Richards big hit on Booth. Flyers vs. Panthers 10/24

on October 24th 2009 Mike Richards caught David Booth looking at a pass and laid him out in the second period. Richards received a 5 minute major and a game misconduct. Was this a legal hit or not? you be the judge
