really love this version. reminds me more of the who's early singles period than what actually ended up on quadrophenia. would have been a nice stylistic diversion if it was left on that record.
Got this cd with the mag recently too. This song is absolutely magnificent. I much prefer this to The Who's 'real' version. Pete's singing is glorious in this song. I'm assuming he's playing all the instruments on this demo. His cymbal rolls at the very end are a bit wonky! Lol. I haven't stopped playing this over and over. Lyrics, melody, rhythm, luscious harmonies and the overall sound production are sensational. I'm going to buy the super deluxe Quad. Dear, but it's worth it for me!
