How good quality beech-wood furniture can be repolished. Here two 30 year old chairs by Cintique are re-polished and re-upholstered to make them like new again. The wood is stripped and sanded, then spray polished with 'pre-cat' lacquer which is semi-transparent. The colour in the lacquer gives the colour to the wood rather than staining the wood itself. This is the way the wood was polished originally, and the way much production 'show wood' furniture is polished today. Although excellent for furniture such as this, pre-cat lacquer is not generally recommended for hard wear areas such as table tops.
