@joerabbit1970 Nope, the "moving handle" end is the part that snaps onto an MSR hydromedary hydration bladder. Probably doesn't matter though. As long as none of the internals are contaminated, if you have both the valves set in the same direction, it probably filters fine either way.
@doc12188 The directions suggest cutting the inlet tube to use part for the outlet if you need to, exactly has he did. I use it with an MSR hydromedary hydration bladder that it snaps into very nicely instead.
Tinny, that prefiilter is designed to float on the top of the water, not weighted down in the muck at the bottom! Used in accordance with the instructions this filter is amazing. I can't imagine why people don't like this filter -- it's the absolute best filter I've used in the last 30 years!
Great video Tinny and good to know. I have been debating this filter for a while now and like all of your other videos I am much more informed now. Thanks and keep up the videos.

@areswarren I agree. Way easy!

Why would it be so hard to backflush? Just reverse the two check valves and push the air out of the cylinder. Doesn't seem difficult to me.

um - you are using it backwards
the moving handle is the inlet side
the inner core/ other end is the outlet
hope you did not get sick....

Backflushing this pump isn't hard to do either. It's recommended to backflush it every 8 liters.

is that outlet hose something you made or did it come with it?
