356mph, that's one hell of a train! Now, if only they could have trains running at those speeds on EVERYDAY services... London to Edinburgh in 40 minutes, Paris to Rome in a couple of hours... excellent!

318 km/h was the first TGV record in 1972. The standard speed of our trains today is around 320 km/h. 570 or 550 will most probably be the standard speed in a few years time.
