3rd baseman was loose away from 3rd base, pitcher was not watching, rookie Chris Nelson took atvantage, surprised and stole home base as pitcher looked the wrong way.
This was a tied game and became 6-5 lead of Rockies to later win. Swept all 3, I Believe

  • It wasn't even close

  • @zenonrock yeah, maybe so, but you see what this action got him, huh? its a dumb move. you can never turn your back when there is a speedy runner on third base. that's just stupid. the runner on first is no threat to score as long as he stays focused and gets the batter out. By getting distracted, he lets the winning run score. Sorry, but you can't defend this one, lol.

  • @DreamsCumTrue469 Usually when you have a runner on first and third, the runner on third will take a few extra steps toward home to try and draw the pitcher's attention as the other runner steals second. The pitcher in this case assumed the runner on first was going full speed and whipped around to pick him off, and the rest is how you see it.

  • im reporting you for plagirizm

  • I went to school with Chris Nelson. Always been a talented baseball player.

  • i was wondering how this went down. look how the knucklehead pitcher turns to second base when the runner from third breaks for home...strange thing is I didn't see any runner on second and the shortstop and second baseman are nowhere near the bag, so they couldn't have been holding anyone on base. Why the pitcher turns to second base shows he had no clue of the situation, which is why the base was stolen. He deserved it.

  • Cool

  • inability to hold an early 5-0 lead cost them the game - this brain freeze was merely icing on the cake. (votto's rubbish underhand toss certainly contributed to this icing btw) also this was a 9/9 event - rockies played the dbacks on 9/10.

  • cost them the game.
