The parent was right there, telling him what to do. It's no big deal. A change in voice isn't gonna affect too much. Like @BrewtownFlyer said, if there were an issue, the parent would have quickly took action.

I wish the kid controlled at my airport. He's better than the new guys they run through there.

HO-LY crap! I'm not against pros but having the Federal Aviation Administration chastise a father for letting his son practice in real life? Which is usually where the passion comes from...."sigh"
I love this kid. Prospective future ATCO! :) Probably even his dream to be an ATCO like his daddy. So please FAA, don't screw a kid's dream / family up cuz of this. Besides the Dad was clearly telling the kid what to say.
Pilots sure love that day when the kid was on the comms!!

"Oh my God...they're letting the children control the planes! How can we be sure the kid knows what heading or what frequency to give the pilot?!? How much training have the kids had?!? This is horrible...planes will be dropping from the skies!!" Get a freaking life and a sense of humor! The parent/controller was obviously sitting right there telling them what to say and could intervene in a heartbeat if something developed. All these breathless worrywarts don't know WTF they're talking about.
