  • Hey, thanks for the video! Any idea where a person can purchase the little chip board inside that the power supply, USB, and power light attach to? I tripped over the USB cable one day and ripped the guts out of the USB plug. Any help would be great!

  • @BurntAgainstTheStars I would look on eBay, You're probably going to have to buy the cable and the drive, but atleast you'll be able to get your info off the drive...

  • Hey i was just wondering..did you do this to it because it stopped working?? and also, would you recomend this drive? i ask because i just got the same one in 500G and i hope i made a good choice...

  • @xXTaNodel408Xx Ya it worked fine for me, I just took it apart to make it an internal drive

  • hi.

i bought a used one and i think its locked.

cuz it tells me that i cant modify it, so i cant copy, paste, or delete anything.

it also says i dont have sufficient rights to modify it.

    how can i reset it???

p.s. im using on a mac os 10.4.11

  • just format the drive and it will delete everything on it and make it work for you. I don't have a mac, but i'm sure it has a format utility. Just google search "how to format a harddrive using a mac", I'm sure someone has put up a step by step on where go...

  • Thank you so much for the video. You are genius. I was debating if I should be slicing this thing open with a machete or if there was a simple way to take it apart.

  • really terrible video ... get the camera out of your hand and back a little bit.

  • @nickbearden

Did you ever find a solution? Cause I need one!

  • Sweet. I have this same drive. It quit working, as in it doesn't fire up. I have a hunch that it's a faulty USB connection on the internal drives behalf. It powers up, but there is no connection to the computer. Forgive my lack of knowledge, but I should be able to open this up, go to fry's, buy a new enclosure and put the HD in there and be back in business, correct?

  • Thanks a lot man, was wondering about this. It fell from my desk and just makes weird noises now T_T
