im from columbus indiana and i was outside right when the hail hit. we got in my car to go to my aunts because she was home alone and it started sliding around the parking lot so we got out and ran back to the apartment building. that hail hurt soooo bad. i was terrified

@daveincols I could use a nice storm here in Southern California. Thanks for posting this on YouTube. keep it coming!!

what a nasty thunderstorm!

@fjhfjftgjdfhgfj Yea This same storm obliterated my friends barn and caused damage to his and his grandparents 100 year old farmhouse. A tornado Was spotted with this storm on the south east side of Columbus. You could definitely tell it was a tornado and not damaging straight line winds.

Yea i remember this. I live By east and by the damage we had on my side of the town, Id say the winds were alot closer to 70-80mph than 60mph

The tornado in Greensburg, IN. was 1/4 of a mile from my mom's house. She was ok, but all of the homes in her area including hers had major hail damage.

man i love this kind of weather. :) shame though south louisiana doesn't get the tornadoes. but we can have some strong thunderstorms.

@daveincols This is so cool! I wish I have this here in Los Angeles. Keep the storm video coming, its dramatic and interesting.
how long did the storm lasted while you're filming? Thats awsome!!!

@skunk96 The video start to end was about 1 hour; this included filming the storm clouds as they approached before the storm hit. But still it lasted about 45 minutes after the rain started until the rain ended. The power was also knocked out mid-way through the storm. It was definitely a whopper!

hmmmm A wind shift?

Just wanted to make a further comment. Great observation! Since this was a rotating Super-Cell Thunderstorm, the wind direction changed as it moved across the county. Since the rotating center was to my north-northwest, the winds were initially from the west, and as it passed to the north, the winds on the back side changed to a northerly direction, as would be expected. In the tail of this storm, 2 tornadoes formed and crossed into the next county and caused EF-1 damage.
