Today we visit a high traffic area in Buckeye, Arizona just 20 minutes from downtown Phoenix and less than a mile from the I-10 Freeway. The corners of Sundance Parkway & Watson road produces a constant high traffic but that does not look like it is enough to keep the local mom & Pop retailers in business. We found many small retail suites empty.

Buckeye, Arizona

When you support your local retailer, You are supporting your local economy. Before you decide to pump your money into corporate giants, Please consider that your local corner mom & pop stores are working hard to make ends meet. They are your neighbors and would like to feed their family as well.. So Instead of contributing to corporate executives Hawaiian Vacations, Shop at your local retail stores. support Your Neighborhood, Your Town and Your Economy.

  • Hey Mike. Well...when eventually America's economy collapses, China will be in for the same because we buy most of their products. What does that mean? When any worldwide region collapses, all the world will collapse, or that is what my logic is telling me. Sooner or later, it all folds. Btw, do you get harrassed by the cops and good citizens as you film openly in public like that? The feds came to my house because some good citizen ratted me out for buying too much bleach. True story.

  • @stevesmitty79 - Just once, A cop asked me some questions, ran my plates and said "Making yourself look suspicious will get you questioned" And told me to go on my way but thats the only time. As far as I know (might be wrong) Video cameras are not illegal. Correct me if I'm wrong. And filming in public places is still legal.

I'm not one of those idiots that provoke cops with my camera. If they tell me to turn it off, I will do so.

  • Were these shopping centers always vacant or did they become vacant recently?

  • @skyding8962 Good question, I remember in 2006-2008 every suite was occupied and the parking lots were always full....Then I moved out of state for a year and when I came back last summer I noticed a big change. No more activity in the parking lots other than Walmart, Seems Walmart is always busy, Morning noon & night. The walmart you see in the video has a nail salon, bank, pharmacy, eye care center, McDonalds, Photo studio and a game room, Why would anyone (sheeple) want to go somewhere else?

  • nice vid Mike.. hows the job hunt going? how far east do you go looking for work? I hear the Mesa area is hireing but not to locals do to the low wadges.. I worked at the walmart dc over there for 1 1/2 years and drove the 45 min each way and it sucked. now work for myself and still struggle day to day.........keep it up it gets better cuz it can't get much worse

  • @1fastbusa1 - Yeah, Perty much gave up the job hunt until next year..Nobody is hiring. You worked at the Walmart DC here in Buckeye?...wow, How does a guy get a job there?. I have been doing their online application and updating it every 6 months but yet to get any calls. Can't go talk to them either because the security inside the door wont let you go past the 2nd double doors.... Thanks for the encouragement, Hope it does get better.

Hi Mike - Great Video and Information.

The Real Estate Crisis that has been focused in the Residential Market is soon to explode in the Commercial Real Estate Market. I see similar vacancies here in NH.

Can I suggest that you make a Google Map Video and create an Overview Video that details the areas you cover. Then you can assemble a summary by going from the Google Map of an area to the actual video(s) that detail each area.

  • @ArizonaPublic i meant where are the people gonna go. they dont give you any options. i did not see any clothing stores and we need clothing. its a shame that walmart is everywhere. OH do you remember when walmart first opened its doors.. there motto was MADE IN THE USA??????
