A poem I wrote when I lived in Hampton Road, Forest gate, a year ago.
The Pink Tree (Transcript)
When you barged open that
Loose door
When I was bathing
Just to spite me
Seeing my back and all
I didn't mind
It was your eyes
Expecting to get on my nerves
Soothing,
It was then that your spite
Became a longing look
When I was dressed
And seeing you around again.
Your work began to coincide
With your affections...
You were tangled in your work and me
Now I don't see you anymore,
Out of my head,
I left that building
And the building of those experiences
We raised tall in those walls
Outside your French windows,
A pink tree, the light brown arms of bounty
Of all I could have given you.
Briefly, you came into my life
As if accidentally.
