Have you ever had the music on your videos muted? I have.
What do you think of this idea? (Please be nice.)
Admittedly, nobody wants to pay fees! (I'm the King of Cheap!)
BUT nobody wants their videos muted, either!
Would you be willing to pay a "Channel Registration/Licensing Fee" so you could legally upload music?
NOT ONLY might it limit repeat-accounts that quickly get deleted and give YouTube a bad name,
BUT it would allow Channel holders to upload their music choice.
Perhaps new Channel/Account holders could get this choice:
"Do you plan to upload copyrighted music?"
IF SO, a "Channel/Registration/Licensing Fee" could be charged and you'd put your license number on your Channel page.
IF NOT, thats OK. Youd still get a channel... but youd take your chances.
Does this make sense ...or... have I lost my mind?
(Please be nice. I don't want MY channel shut down!)
Thanks! :-) +

  • What I do now is load my videos as private and then go to audioswap. They when I find something from the free YT library I use it. After the free audio swap has processed, I preview and then I make the video public for all to enjoy. There are many tunes in the database to select from.

  • @BurgerChefGuy You've made a good suggestion--although, in my experience, I've found YT's library too limited (and Google becoming a bit greedy). Thanks, though for taking the time to watch and comment. I appreciate it.

  • I like this idea!

  • Thanks for your comment. I thought it was a good idea--but haven't gotten many "takers" who agreed. Oh well. Thanks again.

  • Sound muted?I have been warned first, that it was copyrighted, so I took it down and found other sources, their audioswap is nice. otherwise, why take the chance after all the great work we put into our videos. thx 4 posting.

  • I've had a couple of videos where there was no warning--it was just silenced. Sometimes, I've uploaded "test videos" in advance of "the real thing" to see if it "passes." I'd like to see the option of paying a licensing fee. Thanks for your comment.

  • I'm sure many won't pay, but at least it provides a choice for those who don't want to chance it--that their vid gets muted. Thanks for commenting!

  • Thanks for your comment. I think YouTube could offer this as an option--otherwise, everything would really stay the same.

  • i think its kindof a good idea, i wouldnt be the one paying for music on my vids though
