Teleportation -- possible only within the realm of Science Fiction?

Michio Kaku, physicist and author of "Physics of the Impossible," says it is already a reality.

Another great selection of the larger interview.

Teleporting water to the moon would make spaceships more efficient. Teleporting astronauts would make them less fun.

But re-affixing it exactly as it was. I wouldn't be game to try it till we figured out how 'consciousness' works on a personal scale; but that's no reason to inherently assume you die.

If time does not pass for your body, and you are, essentially, the same as you ever were; then you would, optimistically, be the same as you were in a different place.

After all; 99% of our body will *definitively* die before 'we' do. And we are still 'us' despite the fact that we change in every possible way.

Would the one at the end really be you? Lets say on the way over the machine materializes two of you. Which you would you be? If both, what does that mean for the "I" of the original. If neither, same question?

No, it's nowhere near the same thing. When you move, everything is still attached exactly how it was. Dissolving is putting your body into a blender

The physic of the reality that we live in must be discovered first!! We are looking in the wrong places, and trying to figure this whole space /time thing out with our extremely limited way of thinking. Thinking outside of the box, is just the beginning! Tele-portation is real, and there are historical accounts of it. The reality that we live in is a flux and time, matter, and energy! Teleporting is a matter of getting on the right energy wave, and moving with it, to another place in reality!
