@IIICruentusIII Gas Tube? There is no gas tube on a G3. In a properly shimmed gearbox, there is no whine at all, not even little, so it is not shimmed well. Try bevel gear shimming. The 9mm box was a bad decision, as well as the deep fire piston.

I am fairly new to airsoft but know enough to know what I want which is a dmr type rifle. I have a classic army G3-SG1. it's stock as far as I know.
I want it upgraded to around 540 fps with the full auto capability turned off permanently. however I know it is unwise to simply put a stronger spring and plain stupid to put a motor that's too powerful for stock gears. so for a responsible upgrade to 540 fps, how much would that cost? @MegaIndianboy Yeah, you're right. Problem is the motor adjutment screw is stripped so I have put shims under the motor to get it in the right place. Not a solution that I recommend.

I think I'll make a separate video about what I did to get the gun looking the way it is now. Kind of difficult to describe. The basic formula is Surplus woodkit from Zib militaria + time + files of different sorts + dremel =Wood furniture G3.
The gas tube was reinforced using "liquid metal", some sort of epoxy resin, just where it meets the receiver, thats where they usually break.
