Unlock iPhone 3GS on 5.0.1.

How to Fix Ultrasn0w under iOS 5.0.1:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------­­---------------------
1) Jailbreak the iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.0.1.

2) Make sure Ultrasn0w is NOT installed, if it is, uninstall and reboot. Remove SIM just in case...

3) Replace old CommCenterClassic at /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support with newly-patched iOS 5.0 version from here: Download 3gs_5.0.1.rar for free on Filesonic.com (http://www.filesonic.com/file/4033719505)
things u need :

1. iPhone

2. Jailbreak iPhone

3. From Cydia install iFile Repo: http://cydia.xsellize.com

4. iFunBox ( http://dl.i-funbox.com/ifunbox_en.zip )

5. commcentreclassic file

6. WinRAR (http://www.win-rar.com/download.html)

INSTALL iFile FROM Cydia

Connect iPhone to PC then open iFunbox go to :

raw file system/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/

delete commcentreclassic and copy/replace commcentreclassic ( with the downloaded file in the WinRAR compressed folder )

close iFunbox.

Open iFile and go to : System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/commcentreclassic

click the Blue arrow next to the file name, go to access permissions, you'll get user group and global and :

set like this: User: mark writing, execution and reading Group: mark reading and execution Global: mark reasons and execution

Tap blue "Done" button on top right

go to Cydia install ultrasn0w and put SIM card and reboot your iPhone and should work

@TeeFastTeeFurious There is only 3 ways to activate a 3GS, 1. Using an original carrier, 2. If it's unlocked; use 3rd party (different) SIM, 3. Use Sn0wbreeze to "Hacktivate" the phone so it bypasses the activation screen or just does give you the insert SIM and has the setup screen as if you were activating an iPod.
