  • It seems like the gap needs adjusting, because a whistle that size should have much more tone and less steam hiss.

  • They are working on that as we write!

  • The bowl of that whistle looks awfully large in diameter for the bell. For best performance the OD of the slit should be identical to the ID of the bell. If the steamsheet is outside the bell you will get lots of hiss but little performance.

  • They need more PSI for that much gap,

  • This is probably what Titanic's whistle sounded like.

  • A good leaf blower makes more noise. I was on campus when they did the test and thought it was a leaf blower.
