In this video by GreenLightPC, I will show you how easy it is to associate a file extension with a program. By doing this, you will always open a certain file type using the program you have already chosen, instead of having to right click and then select "open with".

GreenLightPC is a channel which aims to provide easy to follow tutorials on specific programs or the use of a computer.

  • @ppheang1 glad to help, if you ever have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask me.

  • @GreenLightPC Thanks for all your help i thought i messed up my computer!!! thanks for all the help sir.

  • @ppheang1 If the utility doesnt work then please message me and I will tell you what to do in the registry. However, editing the registry can be dangourous and therefore using the utility shoudl be safer.

Sorry for having to tell you to search, URL links are not allowed in comments on YouTube

  • @ppheang1 Hello and thank you very much for watching my video.

The easiest way to unassociating it to change the association to another program (like I show in the video). However, If you wish to remove all associations, you will struggle to do this in Windows Vista or 7. Search for "Unassociate Utility" in google and select the second link then click the "attached documents" link at the bottom of the page. Run that program and it should help you. The only other way involves registy editing.

  • how do i unassociate a file type from a program?

  • Please don't forget that all tutorials are availible in 1080p

Switch to 1080p for better quality!
