A man knotted up in sin ... comes to the church for help ... what do we give him ... a prescription called 'repentance from sin' ?? GO AHEAD, BROTHER !! Our Savior saves us from sin. Repent from what? SIN

God did not need to repent from sin. He repented (turned away from) from pouring His wrath on mankind.

@Bill244888 Good job posting scriptures that have the word repent in it. You clearly don't understand what repent means. Repent doesn't automatically refer to sins. Otherwise, God would be sinful, and that's a blasphemous thought of God. But clearly this preacher has shown you that God has repented many times, and it doesn't refer to Him committing sin. So the scriptures you shared doesn't automatically mean repenting from sins. It would need to say it for it to mean it.

U better preach Mr. RA Smith!! Repent does not mean 2 turn from sin. 2 define repentance in this way is heresy just like u said. Repent in the NT is a Greek word- metanoia (n) metanoeo (v)- and it means 2 change your mind. That's it nothing more. 2 say u have 2 turn from your sins 2 be saved is a work and u can't be saved like that. It means 2 change your mind from any form of religion or anything that u would do 4 salvation 2 trusting in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus ALONE.

John 8:11 - Jesus says to the woman caught in adultry, "Go and sin no more" = Jesus teaching repentance. Also see Mark 1:4, 1:15, Luke 24:47
