I stutter too and I am applying for a medical residency position. I had some interviews in the past though I couldn't get any position yet. I think that I was discriminated because I was very nervous at my interviews so I stuttered more than usual. Of course I don't have any proof of this because the program directors don't give you any explanations when they reject you. I hope this year I will be able to change my luck. You are very brave Roisin. Keep chasing your dreams.

I would DO anything to stutter lightly as you do.
A person who stutters lightly can do anything and follow their dreams because light stuttering is no big deal and people can still get their point across.
A very bad stutter who can barely get their point across has no chance of getting a job that requires much speaking.
you are brave!i work also in a nursing home and i stutter also 35 years.believe in your dreams.

Hi Roisin. I'm 45, soon to be 46, and have had a stammer for as long as I can remember. I tend to repeat words and do a lot of blocking. Just wanted to let you know that your not alone and I wish you the best of luck!
