  • Yeah, okay. God damn. The biggest issue that "causes" rogue vertexes is by moving the vertex and then drawing a line. Pretty retarded system, I definitely can say.

But anyways guys, ignore that part and move along to the next vertex you want to connect, and SELECT THE PREVIOUS ONE WITH THE DRAW TOOL. That way, you'll most likely avoid rogues.

  • @TheDoomerBlox I hope you guys don't mind me flooding this. :P

And beware of the rogue vertexes, they're really nasty - and usually come in flavours where you have to zoom in REALLY CLOSE to see the faulty connections.

Oh, and beware of doing this up close, there's a chance you won't be able to "select" the vertexes inside the mesh when zoomed in enough. Thus you'll be making rogue connections. If you notice that "that" is what's going on, zoom out.

Hope you get something good out of this!

  • @TheDoomerBlox But honestly, only select the vertexes with the "W" (Again, defaults to "Move") mode on. Because it can always do the second one all of a sudden. IF it does that, undo - and press "W", then select the vertex you want, and THEN press "Q".

Might want to get a comfortable view before selecting though, due to mentioned deselecting.

Oh, and to remove a nasty connection, SELECT THE LINE, and then insert a new vertex inside it, and remove that. That way you won't remove the good vertex!

  • @TheDoomerBlox As "Q" is for drawing new vertexes/lines, and "W" is for moving them. DON'T try to select a vertex with the drawing tool, as I can guarantee three outcomes:

First, it's going to make a line to the vertex you want to select from your previous selection. Argh.

Second, it's going to make a line from a seemingly RANDOM vertex. ARGH.

Third, it select the vertex. (Lucky you!)

The third only comes if you RIGHT CLICK (thus move the view somehow), as that DESELECTS your current vertex.

  • He doesn't really welcome you to the interface and workflow, which is quite a PITA to say at least.

But to draw a vertex/line, just click somewhere (preferably starting at the middle).

Then, when you draw new lines, the next line is going to come out of the latest vertex.

However, if you're CONNECTING vertexes, the next connection is STILL going to come from the vertex you selected!

Talking about that, I'd suggest you to get familiarized to the "Q" and "W" default shortcuts.

  • how is this tan schwarzenegger talking to us with its mouth closed?

  • Thank you for the quick tutorial. I really appreciate it.

  • @cle7 you must be a NOOB, not knowing who he is. TYPICAL

  • 2012 and the Americans still only have one reference for an Austrian accent #getadamnpassport
