Actually, no. In an interview they said they had an entire list of names they were throwing around. One day when they were playing in a garage a dog walked in, puked, and walked out. Since then they've been Sick Puppies.

@kazene10 Not saying its bad to be a guitarist and a singer in the same band, or that someone wont be good due to the role, but Im sure it might hinder his playing a little, which isnt really bad, its a great band for 3 people.

@TDGfan0001 I heard it was because when they were practicing one of their first songs in the garage, a dog walked in and puked, to which an early fan said "thats one sick puppy" and as a result the name ended up sticking.
