  • its called a burl

  • @damoxr100 Burls typiclally have a distorted grain filled with tiny pin knots. Burls are essentially where the tree has "cancer" for lack of a better term. They occur at random coinsiding with no particular part of the tree.This had no such figure and was clearly growth of the tree to cover a dead limb.

  • Is that a Clement designed American bandsaw? The hollows in the frame casting look like a Clement feature.
