Because of Laura's death, she was unable to accidentally kill a mosquito next evening, which went on to infect several people with a deadly virus. The plague spread like wildfire, claiming hundreds upon thousands of lives. This influenced not only the beginning of WW2, but WW3 and 4 afterwards. Some of the lives lost were those who would eventually become ancestors to soldiers who would drive away the aliens that go on to succeed in taking over our planet.
And it's all because of YOU, Laura.

Wow.. Just wow..
It's like Laura is to blame for all the evil in the world just because she didn't find the killer T_T
I smell a new internet meme coming up :3

LOL, what an ending.

... Wait. Didn't it just say before that the reporter guy found the dagger? Then why did it say, later, it was dropped off at the muesum?!?
-
Now nobody's going to take out those damn Turians!

1:30 - Fail.
I thought I figured out the killer earlier - the detective is a redhead...

@jtd786 That's too bad. Everyone I came across liked the character and game a lot. Then again, the early 90's were not an easy time for games with female protagonists and girl gamers were ignored and less frequent (since they weren't as accepted).
Then again I'd Laura over many of the crappy JRPG heroines out there.

This ending is like one of those little Russian dolls. You open one plot hole, and there's another plot hole inside... and another, and another...

Because of Laura's failure as an adventure game protagonist, The Dagger of Amon Ra sold poorly and made potential customers wary of buying other Sierra games.
As a result, several employees were fired from Sierra and the company degraded into a shadow of its former self.
Without Sierra as a rival, Lucasarts killed off their adventure game series, causing the adventure game market to crash entirely.
Nice going, Laura! :P

About Dr. Pipin Carter - what do they mean "Wherever he is"? You found him! Oh, hell, he's probably with the dagger you didn't find, huh? ;)

I feel so bad for John Bow, "Why didn't I teach my daughter any sense?!" *turns self into mental institution*

A little late for this comment, I'm sure. I think they wrote "wherever he is" as a reference to where his spirit was in the afterlife. It's saying wherever his spirit is now, it's haunting you for failing to get back 'his' dagger.
I feel like Laura should be asking, "If you knew all this crap already, what the heck are you asking me this crap for?" I realize its the game trying to tell you where you screwed up si you can do better, but they didn't have to add plot holes in there to do that.
I find it funny that Olympia, the creepiest one, not only manages to survive and be sucessful, she actually apparently is the only competant one with a brain and can do her job. Unlike some others we won't mention yet.

I believe the whole point of the questioning is that, the Coroner already knows who did it, but cannot rightly accuse anyone without evidence and a witness to prove his case... maybe.
