On July of 2008, SAIC's Roewe 550 will be available for Chinese to buy in the 4S shops all over china.

SAIC Roewe present a brand new design sedan. This sedan is actually SAIC's own design and is no longer relevant to British Rover. The design is much more sleek smooth and much more modern than out-dated Rover itself.

SAIC(Shanghai Auto Industry Corporation) is third-biggest automobile manufacturer in China boasting 15 billion USD sales volume and 1.5 million vehicles for 2006 and is one of the FORTUNE world's 500 companies. SAIC benefited a lot from Chinese booming automobile business starting year of 2004. Now China has grown up and exceeded USA to become the world's biggest car market after no country. After merging Korea's SSANGYONG Motor and Rover, SAIC is gearing up to China's lucrative up-level full-size car market segment.

  • Seriously, china should stop stealing technology from foreign-based companies. It is pretty strange that after all the allegation tof technological theft from SSangyong motors,SAIC is producing better cars in terms of design and quality. not satisfied with stealing technology from US, Germany and Japan. Now Korea. All advanced countries should be more alert now that china is nowsuper hungry ,super ugly ghost on technology.

  • @1ayeyar2 First of all,SSangyong was annexed by SAIC because without SAIC's financial support,it would have gone bankrupt years ago.SAIC saved SSangyong by annexing it into its corporation. So SSangyong's technology of course became part of SAIC's technology. It is not called "stealing" for god's sake!Secondly,SSangyong's technology is bought from Mercedes's outdated technology, and SSangyong's Chairman was developed based on old type Mercedes S series, which is not SSangyong's technology.Stupid!

  • @1ayeyar2 Fact is fact, not mine or yours. You are a very shallow man without your own independent thinking and don't have even basic knowledge about what you said. Pathetic. As for China sucks or not, you are not a qualified person to give judgement because that from your your words, I am pretty sure that you are very ignorant about some basic facts. You don't even know that the SSangyang bought Mercedes technology to develop its car and SUV. SSangyang has no ITS OWN technology.

  • @crazygamble this is your fact.I don't give a damn about it. anyway,china sucks.

  • @1ayeyar2 Not trolling, just telling the fact. You did not do your homework before you said bad things about China. By the way,no body give a shit to your feeling, you hate hate china or not, which does not stop the earth and China from turning.

  • @crazygamble lol can you stop trolling? people like you make me hate china more.

  • @1ayeyar2 You are really very stupid about the Roewe's 550 new model, which evolved from the British Rover annexed by SAIC years ago.So Roewe's 550 has nothing to do with low tech bad quality Korean SSangyang. Do you think that SSangyang has its own technology which worth SAIC invested thousands of millions of dollars to buy?SSangyang's so called technology was actually Mercedes? And now SSangyong is bankrupt again and nobody wants to save it because of savage worker union protest.

  • @1ayeyar2 No,of course not. In terms of technology, Korean is a total joke itself. Korean products has very bad reputation in China for its quality problem. Although Korean products are cheaper than Japanese, Germany products, and Chinese Products, but still only a few Chinese customers bought Korean ones.

  • @crazygamble True, the experience with a Hyundai i30 is horrible...Anyway that's cheap choice, I'll stick to Japanese cars but no boring Toyota

  • @thomashome05 Because SAIC already the partner of 50:50 joint venture with VW and GM, both at Shanghai, the Rover is just a stunt for them to meet the political requirement of indigenous designs and get the grant from gov department. Just imagine 90% of 2 million passenger cars that SAIC manufactured each year are with the badges of VW and buick,chevy...
