The Recipe:
1/2 cup of butter
6 tablespoons white sugar
6 tablespoons brown sugar
1 egg beaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon soda
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 six-ounce package semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream the butter and sugars thoroughly.
Add the egg and beat into the butter and sugar mixture until fluffy.
Sift the flour, soda and salt together then add to the creamed mixture with the vanilla.
Stir in the chocolate chips until blended.

Drop from a teaspoon onto cookie sheets lined with parchment paper.
There is no need to grease the parchment paper.

Flatten the cookies with the back of a spoon or with hand.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated 350 degrees oven until an attractive colour.

Lift the cookies onto a cooling tray. They will become crisp as they cool.
When cool, store in the fridge in tight lidded container.
Can also be frozen so that chocolate chip cookies are always on hand.

My friend TK demonstrates how to make a truly fine batch of chocolate chip cookies!

My mom has been making these cookies for over forty years, and now TK is enthusiastically carrying on the tradition.
