Here is another Маяк clock I own. This one still needs some work, but I thought I'd post the video anyways. This is the second one of these I've come across. These clocks use the Majak works, bird, housing, door and face, but as you can see, it also has some very roughly carved woodwork, uniquely Russian though. The other one I have seen had slightly different carvings.

  • Does Majak still make cuckoo clocks?

  • I believe the actual company Маяк went away with the Soviet Union. From my understanding, it was sort of a "cottage industry" when it existed, with differt parts of the clocks being made by many different people, in different places and then assembled together. I have search many times for an actual clock making company Called Маяк but have not been able to find it. Маяк also made watches and other types of clocks during the Soviet era.

  • @exposed97 The birds in the Russian clocks are grey colored and are hard to see in these videos, but they are there.

  • Thanks, for the fascinating history of your clock.
