Completed in December 2005, just after Albert Ellis' last public appearance, this documentary is about the life and opinions of psychotherapy's most important and influential voice. Directed by J.G.M. Davi, the film runs about 90 minutes. (The preview is about 6 minutes.)

Neither Al nor the majority of his supporters think he's the "one true shrink." Besides, most messianic figures or cultish groups depend on faith, belief that is not based on proof. Cognitive therapy has been empirically validated time and time again. It works. Further, I'm no "quack shrink." In fact, I'm a lowly independent filmmaker. I probably won't profit from this movie. But even if I did, so what? I have the right, after all, to profit from the fruits of my labor. And I have bills to pay.

Albert Ellis contributed so much to the helping professions. He is an absolutely brilliant man, and if people are that offended by calling them "worm" or "louse," then you need to grow a thicker skin. He is an amazing man, one who actually speaks what he thinks and believes, and that is the best way to be.
