Okay, this one's not a silent, but it does star my favorite silent comedian Harry Langdon as a lone wanderer who manages to hitch a ride on an airplane and make his fellow passengers wish they'd taken the bus. THE HITCHHIKER features an extended version of Langdon's classic attempts to treat a cold, which were originally seen in his feature film THE STRONG MAN in 1926.
His eyes look uneven..:/

I disagree. I love Harry's voice, in this one and The Head Guy

I love Harry but he's a guy who really needed silence. His character never worked as well in sound movies.

When you worked for Educational Pictures, as HL did in this short, you were at the bottom of the bottom - to be a has-been would have been a step up. Buster Keaton found himself here for awhile as well.

By the time this was made, people wanted talking comedians like the Marx Brothers (Harpo notwithstanding), and in a year or so, the Three Stooges. So Harry Langdon's silent-film style was passe to audiences. But watching this now, it's really pretty funny. Harry had talent and was one of the great silent comics (with Chaptlin, Keaton and Lloyd), but it's too bad he went downhill by the time talkies came in.

Landgon DID achieve stardom...at the tail end of the silent era. When "talkies" came in, he didn't have the material that would have made him successful in sound films. His 1929-'30 shorts for Hal Roach/MGM were a disappointment, and the series he did for Educational (including this one) was considered "mediocre". By the time he began his final series of shorts for Columbia in 1940, he was considered a "has-been".

I just love Harry. Something different from other comedians. Such a flirt too, in his comedies. I think he was sexy too.

I love the little dance Harry does when he's hitchiking!
