I was a cook and bartender at the Downtown during the summer of 2005...I even gave the sourtoe to some poeple, and there was more than one toe...there were four or five all preserved in salt. The freshest one was way more disturbing than the old, shriveled ones.

I was working in Dawson a few years ago, joined the club doing the Sourtoe. Felt just like dried (flaky) leather really. Also remember another bar in town got jealous of the Downtown's success and created another cocktail club in similar vein - The Dog's-Ball Highball!!!
