I believe that jumping was a part of war, just as the airs above the ground were. Doesn't get much more classical than that, does it?

@Fantageous they once classed themselves as a classical riding school and classical riding schools do not jump

How is jumping a bad thing? For instance, cavalletti does wonders for your horse both mentally and physically. I love dressage but understand that horses get bored out of their wits doing flat work inside a ring which can really dull your horse's performance. If anything, horses welcome a chance to jump.

a performance that doesnt compare to that of the spanish riding school. Shame really many pointless exercises such as show jumping. this is mroe showmanship than horsemanship unfortunately.

@fleur4198 well you know the cadre noir isn't what it used to be
the cadre noir now competes in every discipline which means they had to give up some of their french riding heritage and ride like the germans do.
I don't know if you're familiar with philippe karl but he left it for that reason, he had no chance of becoming head of the cadre noir because of his obsession with french riding.
