  • The oil will get heated as it is recirculated back to the tank by the injection pump. All diesel engines do this to carry heat away from the injection pump and injectors - might be a potential problem.

  • @tomt6040 Gasoline engine automobiles are the most common car on the road and they do not burst into flames every day. Yes, the returning fuel in a diesel auto is heated by the engine, but the return line has a very low flow rate, so when the heated fuel returns to the fuel tank, the thermal mass of the fuel there, plus heat losses results in a fairly low temp; however, on a hot day in a hot region, with a low fuel tank, could result in enough heat to cause vapor lock, but not explode

  • What does this do to the flash point of the veg. oil? Aren't the gasoline vapors still present, especially if the oil is heated.

  • @tomt6040 If you put a match to a container of waste oil with 20% gasoline blended into it, then the surface of that container will light, but it is just the gasoline that is burning. The flame is quite a bit like an alcohol flame, in that it is relatively cool and not strong. However, I would not heat waste oil with 20% gasoline blended. There is no reason for doing so.

  • thank goodness for people who are willing to experiment......we certainly cannot trust the authorities! Bravo to you.

  • @faerylaughter thanks, I am glad you appreciate my work

  • @Jhananda Thanks !

  • @MrSzviktor diesel, and waste oils could be cat-cracked to simplify the molecular structure of their fractions to produce gasoline, kerosene and diesel fuel. Or, gases, such as: Methane, propane and butane can be hydrated to make more complex molecules that can be used for gasoline, kerosene and diesel fuel.

  • Do you know some process of obtaining gasoline from diesel ? Thank you !

  • @pearljamfan99 I once saw a guy in Mexico trying to start a dump truck using gasoline as a starter fluid. It exploded, cracking the intake manifold.
