Built in 1981 and featuring 43 episodes divided into three seasons (1981-1983), the show revolved around the teacher Ralph Hinkley and Bill Maxwell secret agent who discovers a group of aliens who want to help the planet Earth to solve their problems.

In Brazil, only two seasons of the series were displayed (and replayed several times) in the SBT at the time, always with great success.

Anchor Bay Entertainment released the complete series on DVD, region 1, for the first time in 2005. In addition, on October 3, 2006, they released a special edition box set of 13 DVDs containing all 43 episodes of the series, as well as other bonus items for collectors. NOTE: Both editions, box and all three individual seasons on DVD from 2009, were discontinued and are out of print.

In July 2008 it was announced that Katt was writing a series of comics based on TV series of his publishing company, Catastrophic Comics, along with Arcana Studios.

A movie based on The Greatest American Hero is scheduled for release in 2012. Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell and are being studied to take the role of Ralph Hinkley Jr.

producer and scriptwriter of the series The A-Team, Stephen J. Cannell, died on September 30, 2010 evening at age 69 because of a melanoma, his family announced.

Cannell, Emmy winner for Confidential File (1974), died at his home in Pasadena (California).

The producer has created and participated in the production of some 40 television series, including The Super American Hero, The Man of the Mafia's Angels and the Law

He also wrote the screenplay for 450 episodes and produced or acted in more than 1500.

In addition, Cannell wrote 16 novels and worked as a volunteer, helping people with dyslexia, as he himself suffered with the problem.

This edition is a tribute to a Brazilian fan to Mr. Stephen J. Cannell.

  • Any chance of making a clip of the kid teaching Ralph how to fly, and seeing his first flight that followed? That was such a classic scene! Great job on this one!

  • VERY GOOD !!! THANK'S FOR REMEMBER ME !!!

  • Great tribute, but wanted to give you a head's up - as far as I know, Wilson has been eliminated as a potential Ralph Hinkley, I wouldn't want to see Will Ferrell play the role (he'd ruin it IMHO like he did other shows he's done a remake on), and Stiller last time I checked has never been considered. There has been a rumor of Ashton Kutcher being considered, but I'm hoping they do not cast him as he also tends to ruin remakes he's appeared in.

I hope this helps, and hope that you get all 3.
