Cardinal Adam Maida delivers the homily at the midnight mass on Christmas, Dec. 25, 2008, in the historic Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, in Detroit. He talked about metro Detroit's weak economy, comparing it to the conditions at the time of Christ's birth 2,000 years ago.

  • I've been there. Most of the sanctuary looks like the bridge of the Starship Enterprise.

  • It used to be nicer. It is an embarrassment to every Catholic the wreck-ovation that happened to this once great house of God.

The evil of spirit of Vatican II will not triumph against the people of God.

  • Matthew 15:3, 6, 7"Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? [Y]e made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. Ye hypocrites." Heb.7:27 Who needeth NOT daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did ONCE, when he offered up himself.
