Disgusted? Most people don't realize how easy it is to gain weight from drinking sugary sodas, juice drinks, sport drinks and sweetened tea and coffee drinks. Just one 20-ounce bottle of soda can pack 250 calories and more than 16 teaspoons of sugar. Is the lemon-flavored iced tea any better? Not by much with 210 calories and 14½ teaspoons of sugar. Sugar-sweetened beverages add hundreds of calories to your diet each day. Don't drink yourself fat. Try water. It's good.

What I got from this is: Cities have health departments?! And there job is to educate the public about eating, drinking and generally being healthy?! I seriously didn't know this. I just looked up mine and it looks very foreign. I have never seen a flyer or poster of any of the things they talk about on the website. It's all just plain text and info. They could at least try to add some pizzazz to it or something. Or maybe a citizen *points to self* will have to step in and do their job for them.

This is a good ad except for the fact that drinking fat while disgusting isn't bad for you. It's the hyperinsulinemic state caused by consuming carbohydrates (sugar in this case) that cause you to store excess calories as body fat. Drinking pure fat puts your body into a totally different metabolic state which doesn't promote anabolism nearly as much therefore you add and remove fat throughout the day rather than simply packing on the pounds.
