When this series was made, Pier 39 was just an abandoned pier, the Embarcadero freeway was still blocking the view from Market to short of Pier 39, SOMA was far scarier - the Tenderloin was anything SOMA, the Giants stadium was part of that, etc.
I know for a fact the show ran from September 1972 to May of 1977 ran 5 full seasons. The last season was not as good. Michale Douglas left the show after season 4 and Richard Hatch replaced him. The show was still good but Douglas simply had more appeal than Hatch.
This is the very first time I've seen and heard the intro to this series in 30 years(probably not since 1979 when I was a little kid). By the way,Michael Douglas played again a San Francisco police detective in the movie,"Basic Instinct"(1992).
#1: you're listening to this too but i'm not questioning your sexuality, am I? #2: don't quit your day job, honey... it's time to give up that dream of becoming a rap star.
does anybody remember the episode where a bunch of mobsters was after a woman's brother(?) . One scene had one of the mobsters grabbing on and holding the woman's nearly buttoned shirt collar in a firm but gentle fashion, and leading her into the next room

or, it was. (I hope they won't "remake" it)
