This is a late model V-Rod tuned on our dyno with the HD race tuner package. It is not a user friendly interface for tuning, I prefer the Power Commander PCIIIusb 10 to 1 over HD's programmer. Once you learn it, yes, it does work, but not in an easy or logical way. This bike made good power over its baseline, the red line on the monitor. The heat in the silencer is normal for a heavy breathing engine, it is not too lean!

  • one more question how did you secure the IAT sensor to the the top hat ??

  • Zip Tie on the inside of the housing and a hole drilled to exactly the right size. Simple enough

  • @MicahShoemaker what if the zip tie comes off wont it go in the carbies ??

  • @pocketlife I suppose it could but I have never seen a properly secured zip tie come apart unless you are using those cheap little Chinese versions without the internal metal tab? Zip Ties are actually amazing engineering pieces, Google search the history of them, fascinating actually.

  • hello mate , i have a vrod night rod and i have a hiflow kit on mine but they did not fit that sensor on the top cap of the filter its just fitted to the bottom of the original airbox this is not right , what do you think mate ?

  • I did not like the location of the stock sensor with the open airbox kit so I simply made a new hole to place the sensor as close as possible to actual intake air since so much of the computer's efi calculations are based on intake air temperature, the more accurate the data the more accurate the results. So no, this was one of my mods, not one of HD's mods. Gday'

  • thanks for getting back

  • I do not actually remember, will have to look at the dyno file back at work again. It was not like really powerful compared to sport twin cylinder engines though. It id end up running very well and very crisply.

  • so what did you get for hp tq
