do you have resonator on you system?

assuming you used an adapter (and a 2.25 to a 3 O.D are hard to come by) your inlet and outlet are too big. Thats why its sounds so ricey. Think of the obnoxious horns they use during the world cup. Same diameter until where the sound comes out, which is why they both sound like shit.
