http://lasikcomplications.com Dr. Morris Waxler, the man who was key to FDA's approval of devices for LASIK eye surgery, is now speaking out against it. Waxler is petitioning the FDA to strengthen warnings and regulations regarding LASIK to stop what he calls an "epidemic of permanent vision problems" caused by LASIK.

  • I lost my faith in the FDA because of Food inc., I'm shocked that an honorable person like Waxler actually works for them.

  • @foreseengust He no longer works for the FDA.

  • I had the procedure done and am completely satisfied. They alert you of the risks and then it is ultimately up to you. You are entitled to your own opinion, of course, but personally, I am happy to put drops in my eyes on a regular basis as opposed to having eight diopters of myopia.

  • @hcsbaseball I'm curious -- how long ago did you have LASIK?

  • @LASIKComplications A little over six months ago.

  • @hcsbaseball That's what I thought. I'd love to know how you feel about it in 5 years. You need to go to my website and read about regression, late onset complications, and long-term consequences. Just saying...

  • Dr. Slade did not explicitly deny that LASIK causes halos or that many people, like myself, have 20/20 but cannot drive safely at night.

  • I can't understand the people working in this industry of lasik. I mean some surgeons may be greedy and deceptive, wanting money, but all the staff and nurses etc?

How can you be in a business on human eyes with random factor in it, if they can't determine why am i having nightime lowlight issues, then this procedure is broken.

  • @kkruecke Exactly, sick procedure and people working in lasik industry are sick. It seems no matter how good the procedure is done, and even all scans show all is ok, no wrinkles, no dry eye, no decentered ablation, and yet I see catastrophic at night or low light, and they say to me that's normal, they try to convince me. I just don't understand how people can be so stupid and accept that kind of vision, not going public, news etc. It seems a random procedure.

  • @hcsbaseball And i did this demonic procedure too. I have all nightvision issues, it's driving me crazy. And by all I was perfect candidate, surgery was done right, all they say it's right, but I can't see clearli in low light conditions as before? Are people really crazy to accept halved wualiyt of vision just not to wear glasses? Seems like it.

  • @hcsbaseball And that is wrong, why do you still need to put eyedrops in? To me they told me 3months until nerves regenerate for tear film, after8 months it came back to normal, i lost my mind of all drops and wasting money. Why should you put drops if tear film is regenerated? And no drops cost money, so you spend more money than having glasses on nose for 5 years.

  • So what happens when old technology is used on you in 2011! and sold as not making a difference just because the surgeon is trying to squeeze your high myopia and thin corneas into some procedure he can legally do without telling you.

It's still happenning; the lieing. The lie to make the sale.
