Le dije: ¿Dónde están tus plumas? Me contestó: el tiempo se las llevo.

قلتله ريشاتك وين قلي فرفطها الزمان

Una lágrima le corrió a su mejilla y sus alas estaban dobladas
A tear drop ran from his cheek and his wings bent
نزلت على خده دمعة وجناحاته مدكية

Se apoyó al suelo y dijo: quisiera caminar pero no puedo

واتهدى بالأرض وقال بدي أمشي وما فييّ

ضميتو على قلبي وصار يتوجع على جروحاته

Antes de romper las esposas, se perdió la voz y se le rompieron las alas

قبل ما يكسر الحبس كسر صوته وجناحاته

Le dije: "No temas, mira la salida del sol? "

قلتله لا تخاف إتطلع شوف الشمس اللي رح تطلع

Miró hacia el bosque, y vio las olas brillantes de la libertad
He looked toward the forest, He saw the tides of freedom glitter
وتطلع على الغابة وشاف أمواج الحرية بتلمع

Vio alas revoloteando, más allá de las altas puertas.
He saw wings flutter, beyond the high gates.
شاف جوانح عم بترفرف من خلف بواب العلية

Vio el bosque volando con las alas de la libertad.
He saw the forest flying, on the wings of freedom.
