  • i dont understand what the point of this exercise is, does it work ur chest more to me it looks dangerous even on the smith

  • to train explosiveness/quickness, the training concept is to move the weight/bar as fast as possible. Fast movement trains the muscle fibers to recruit quickly, therefore generate more power; versus a slow movement used more to gain mass or beach muscles. During athletic performance training there is a time to work on muscle building, but then work on speed training to turn the strength into power! Coaches use this technology to optimize the power/speed part.

  • Yes, you could measure the vertical hand movement and get a velocity measurement.

    If you wanted to get a punching motion measurement, you would need to use a pulley system and place the Myotest on the weight stack. This also applies for any rotational measurements.

  • can we use the same method but stand up and grip the myotest to determin the force of your hand speed/power? setting the device to 0lbs of course..
