Insurance will not pay. I might go to Dr. Joya. Life is full of bumps.. why can't it be a smooth road for a little while?

  • hey girl!

i know it's super easy to get discouraged when you hear that your insurance doesn't cover the surgery. i know because i was there! i eneded up paying out of pocket. i took out a loan and now pay $400/month- it's a lot to pay each month but it was the best decision i ever could have made. but i heard that starbucks does cover even for part timers-so that's exciting! good luck :)

  • If I could I would take out the loan for my surgery. I'm now working two jobs to reduce our debt. I will get the surgery one day when the time is right.

  • Hang in there. I tried for 10 yrs before I got approved. Keep plugging away at and check out every option out there! If you have a positive outlook and faith that it will happen eventually will! :)

  • You put a big smile on my face. Thank you! Yes.. I will not give up. I guess it's just not the right time yet but I will not stop fighting. I have my good days and bad days in being positive but that has more to do with the problems in my life right now. I always try my best to look at what wonderful things I do have in my life.

  • ask for a copy of your product disclosure statement and read through it very carefully, also ask for receipt or reference numbers for Everyone you talk to, find out who told you it was covered in the first place, ask if the calls are recorded for coaching/development purposes, fight like hell hunny!!!

  • I called my insurance and found out that the surgery is totally, absolutly... excluded. Sooo.. next plan is to try my insurance with the job I'm at. Buutttt.. I just started my job and have to wait 3 months before coverage. That's fine with me.. I'll wait. I waited 20yrs to get skinny I can wait a few months. If all fales.. I will go to mexico.

  • Hi Suzie. I've only just come across your vlog, I was searching for 283lbs which is what I am just now - and your videos popped up.

I'm so sorry to hear that surgery isn't going to be easy to get - I'm thinking about a gastric band too as my weight is yo yo ing - I'm across the pond in the UK

Please keep positive - it is lovely to see you when you smile - you have a gorgeous cherubic face - which lights up when you smile.

    Take care D xxx

  • Aaahhh.. it sucks so much. I don't know what to do with myself. I'm so sorry it happened to you too hun. I feel like i'm suck with this issue for the rest of my life.

  • OMG! Same thing happened to me!!! I'm sorry...it sucks! = ( If I had the money I would go with Dr. Joya for sure!!! Good luck honey, stay strong.

  • Actually any Bariatric Surgery is excluded from my policy. It's not even a matter of getting aproved. I can't even go that far.
