in costa rica there are reefs and rocky bottoms, everything from rock slabs to coral to world class beach breaks.

@dennisdeslager0 well i was there and i learned how to surf here and i'm 14 so ya but some guys were surfing HUGE waves

@dennisdeslager0 well i've never been to mexico so i wouldn't exactly know what to tell you but i know some people that have gone there to surf and said it was really good. is costa rica there are no reefs or rocky bottoms!

@mimittnuri thanks, and what about Mexico, are there more surfspots than in Costa Rica for intermediates, and are there enough safe beaches ( i don't want reefs and rocky bottoms)

@dennisdeslager0 well they're pretty good in august, i mean everyday the waves are different, tamarindo beach is really good for beginners though, but some particular spots on tamarindo beach are really good for advanced surfers, like locals that surf everyday, it just matters at what time of the day because the waves are different all the time, but august is a really good time to go surfing in costa rica, but its also actually better like december - march
