  • i brought a brand new toshiba laptop that came with windows 7 less then 12 months ago however lately i've been having so much trouble with it i've tried system restore hasn't helped so i would like to restore it back to factory settings if i do that will it permanently erase windows 7 also i didn't get any disk with the laptop when i brought it does that matter or do i need disk

  • @onelonelybutterfly i am not a expert but i would first check and see if here are updates that are needing to be installed . i know of a couple friends who laptop was doing the same and it helped . as for the system restore as long as your operating system in not corupt then no copy of windown is needed . this method worked for me but it may be a no go for you

  • @maxwellsworld thanks for replying i'm not sure if my operating system is corupt all i know is that i cannot open some files it always comes up with error there are also files that were there when i brought the laptop that are missing also there is alot off stuff like games and plug ins i want to delete but can't as my laptop won't let me again it comes up error as for the updates i'm not sure how to do them i tried searching for the answer on google but couldn't find anything

  • @onelonelybutterfly a system restore will erase your anti virus and any other programs that have been added on since factory . i would recomend spending the money and getting a computer fix it shop to look at it they should know little tips and tricks to fix your system . if it is a nasty virus then they will know how to deal with it
