The cool feature I discovered on google maps allows you to track your location even without data package or internet from the network.

  • Here in Canada i was able to install an app that has topographic maps but you have to preload them. It does not delete them like google maps does. So when out in the woods or in the trails i can access these maps without 3g or wifi.

  • @Shattentor correct but his claims we're inaccurate.

  • @Ryguy1450 It obviously worked here because he loaded the maps before WITH internet connection and then when he opened it again WITHOUT internet they were still in the cache. That's why the map didn't refresh itself when zoomed in - he also wouldn't have gotten too far before running into plain grey beyond the border of the cached map. So yeah, it doesn't work for real, but the vid is legit.

  • @burhanyuerum love ur car may i have it?

  • Actually, it didn't load the map when he zoomed in, but whatever -.-

  • if you have loaded the map before its working everywhere...

  • lol thats what gps is. welcome to the 21st century. GPS does not require any sort of network and/or internet connection. GPS has its own antenna and it locates you using its GPS antenna to locate with Satellites up above. Its funny how you were suprised to see that lol.
