From a story by Arthur Conan Doyle, The Adventures of Gerard (1970) is a historical romp set during Napoleon's Spanish campaign. Directed by Jerzy Skolimowski (usually associated with more eccentric projects) it stars Peter McEnery as the eponymous French cavalry officer.
The overall storyline is rambling and not very memorable (I have forgotten it myself for instance). It's more a collection of comic and sexy incidents, the best of which not surprisingly tend to feature Claudia Cardinale.
@oddballsok Eli Wallach is Napoleon.

At the start of this movie the 1968 United Artists logo with Transamerica byline has the 1982 Turning UA music. Was that how the movie originally started or was it a very bad reverse plaster?
