West Kelowna Fire July 18 2009

West Kelowna had a fire interface with their area, these are some basic infrared imaging of the fire from several miles away and from West Kelowna before it crossed the highway.

Buildings and development being radiated by the sun and creating heat that changes climate making for more intense fires.

It was very important to respect first responders and the important job they have to do so we kept off the main road to capture information on the fire. Heavy winds fanned the flames and you will see the left side of the fire showing more heat above the fire. There are palette changes for different presentation of the information.
