The fact that this posting has had less than 400 viewers, and 4 comments in 11 months is a disgrace.
My suggestion for improving the education of our public schools grades 4 - 12 would be to introduce the teaching of Vedic Math to our curriculum.
Search for (Vedic Math) on the internet to learn more .

When the education budget of a nation is over stepped by the budgets for its various other department and programs because they are seen as some how as valuable when most communities are not built upon education as one of their assets but as a liability. Corporations need to be part of the solution. Once they surpass the $10 million dollar profit level, an education tax should be placed upon them to give to the American communities they are recieving from.

Funding equals control. Community schools equals government control and not local control. Schools are over-regulated by the State and Fedral government. The drop out rate is at 30% because education discipline has been left out of the picture. Help the parents teach this value to their children. Give them educational programming on tv on the level of competition with corporate advertising for control of the child's money versus their mind.

The problem is teachers are over-worked. Their classrooms are diluded with all types of students. The average student is "left behind" for the students with "special needs". Requirements for teachers to become masters in every area is just rediculous. More teachers and classrooms are needed. Not just more specialized teachers.
