  • You mentioned underhooks. You always want the underhook on the opposite side as the way they are passing. If they are passing to your left you want to get the right underhook.

Also anytime they are going over your bottom leg you need to use your top leg to make space and put them back in the guard. See the cross snake video I have up.

  • Thanks! If you have any techniques you want to see let me know.

  • Hey i was wondering if you can post a technique for when someone is attempting to pass by pushing your knee? Any help would be much appreciatted.

  • Pushing your knee down how? Are they trying to put their knee over your leg? Do you mean your guard is closed and someone is pushing down on your leg trying to open your guard? Give me some more info and i will try to help!

  • Very nice. Good stuff for beginners. Thanks

  • Nice

  • true the greeks did bring high shoulder takedowns but India and the ancient Burmese had submissions to .

  • @121069 Actually, some historians believe just the opposite. Some believe that the ancient Greeks transmitted grappling techniques to Asia .

  • Really nice vid - thx!

  • Minotauro on Bob Sapp

  • Not really, wrestling has its roots pretty much everywhere. People fighted and wrestled way before the complicated stuff was done.

  • I do a variation of the exercise on the balance ball, great vid.

  • Yep. It's a wrestling move. BJJ players use it almost exclusively for a north/south escape, though (basically how a wrestler would use it to escape a front head lock). Wrestlers use the sit through more often as an escape from the four point with the opponent behind (doesn't work so well in bjj because your opponent is going for hooks and the RNC in that position, rather than just body control or a gut wrench).

  • the point is directed at wrestlers all origins start somwhere not in the US
