  • So girl Bettas don't fight? because I have a 10g tank and 2 girls and wanted them to live in possible?

also can you use the water conditioner that you use for regular fresh water fish because I ran out of the Betta kind.

  • female bettas generally fight to sort out their hierarchy. if the females are about the same size and in a 10g they may fight a little to determine who is boss. just need to watch them so that nothing serious happens. usually things quiet down in a few days. any good conditioner works just fine. i use tetra Aquasafe and tetra EasyBalance. thnx for the questions. JIM

  • The tank is strictly for my girls. The cories are some of my fry that I am using to keep tank clean and size them til they are bigger and can go in other tanks. Thnx for the kind words. JIM

  • Beautiful bettas, it's too bad about the red cambodian's fins though :( I have one that looks identical to her, fins and all.

How big is the tank? Cute cories too :D

  • Thanx for the comment. The tank is a 20g long. The fins on the red are my fault. I had a brain fart when introing the girls...seems a few had attitude issues so took a few days for them to work things out. Now everyone has their own niche and all is well. The cories are some I bought thru aquabid so they're company for the girls til they get a bit bigger.

  • cool tank setup

  • (late reply i know but) guppies and bettas do not mix. Please show me otherwise anyone who disagrees. I've had female bettas in the past munch on poorl guppies. They kept disappearing and I was blaming it on angelfish until I saw a female betta swimming around with the rear end of a guppy sticking out of her mouth. Greedy girl.

  • can i have 4 neon tetras in with 4 female female bettas 1 guppy and 1 snail?

  • @7jako7 yea i got 6 neon tetras with my 4 female bettas they don even pay atention 2 each other id rekomend puttin da tetras un 1st tho

  • @KashikyoOokami you need more than 2 females. In a 10 gallon I'd stick with 5 or 6 females. With two they cannot create an pecking order.

  • Good video. I love Betta's. I also have a sorority tank with 10 female betta (20 gallon long) pretty heavily planted and lots of hiding spaces. They fought for the first week and now you only see one with a ripped fin rarely. I also have one juvenile platy and a rubber lip (AKA bulldog) Pleco in there with them. They all get along fine.

  • I think you might need more hiding places for your girls to retreat to. I know my girls love a more heavily planted tank and there is much less fighting with more hiding spots :)

  • can you keep female bettas with neon tetras

  • Some of the females fins are ripped, is it because they're fighting?

I also have a female tank with 5 of them (check out my video). Sometimes I see a ripped fin, but it's not as much as I see in yours. I don't mean no offense!!
